Matt Beach is a Project Manager for Murphy Real Estate Services and oversees Civic Health Development Group’s (CHDG) redevelopment of the Old Cook County Hospital. Matt has nearly 20 years of experience in project management, construction, energy procurement, and facilities services. 

Before joining MDG, Matt worked for the City of Chicago and the University of Chicago, where he oversaw energy portfolios of $100 million and $50 million respectively. At the University of Chicago, Matt migrated the organization’s electricity portfolio from retail to a wholesale procurement structure resulting in substantial savings. He also strategically planned the summer/winter demand response and transformed the university’s utility billing system into relational database structures. 

In addition to his extensive professional experience, Matt is a Certified Engineer Manager through the Association of Energy Engineers, received the Building Operator Certification from the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, and is a LEED-accredited professional.
