Bill serves as the Chief Investment Officer and brings 30 years of national experience to the firm. During his career, he has been involved in excess of $13 billion in investment and development transactions across multiple United States markets focused on the office, industrial, multifamily, and life science sectors.

Prior to joining Murphy Real Estate Services, Bill held C-suite and executive leadership positions with McWhinney, Zeller, GlenStar, KBS Realty Advisors, and Slough Estates UK (SEGRO). In each of the roles, his mandate was to lead the expansion of the organization in terms of geographic and sector investments. His duties included profit and loss (P&L) responsibility, market/sector identification, site acquisitions, strategy development and implementation, and equity procurement through the monetization of projects. Notable accomplishments include:

  • Team oversight of entitlements procurement and site plan design for planned mixed use campuses and industrial parks in Salt Lake City, Denver central business district, and Northern Colorado.

  • Expansion of Chicago-based firms into the Pacific Northwest, Southeast, and Southwest regions, as well as new investments into the life science, industrial and multifamily sectors. Transactions include: 100 Peachtree and Resurgens Plaza (1.1M SF total; Atlanta), Marquette on the Park (242 units multifamily development; Chicago), Lonza Viral Therapy Campus (260K SF; Houston), Energy Square / Meadows mixed use campus (1.2M SF; Dallas).

  • As head of acquisitions/ dispositions for the Central Region at KBS Realty Advisors, led his team to in excess of $3BN of investments including expansion into Texas and other markets. Select transactions include: 300 N LaSalle (1.3M SF; Chicago), Providence Towers, Legacy Town Center, Two Westlake, Dallas Cowboys Distribution Center, Domain Gateway (2.1M SF total; Dallas, Houston, Austin markets), 601 Tower at Carlson Center (320K SF; Minneapolis), OPUS and Hackman multi-state industrial portfolios (13M SF).

  • Conversion of Slough Estates from an office/warehouse focus into the leading developer of life sciences campuses in California, focused on the San Diego and Bay Area markets. Developments include: Torrey Pines Science Center (1.1 M SF Pfizer campus; La Jolla), Britannia Oyster Point and Britannia Pointe Grand (1.3M SF total, home to Amgen, Roche, and others; South San Francisco). Slough Estates USA was sold to HCP REIT for approximately $3BN. Torrey Pines Science Center sold to Pfizer for $385M.
